JAMMU, Jan 31: A five-member J&K Weightlifting team left for participation in the 72nd Men and 35th Senior National Weightlifting Championship to be held at Kolkata in West Bengal from February 2 to 7, 2020.
Earlier, selected by the J&K Weightlifting Association the team underwent screening conducted by the J&K Sports Council (JKSC) at the office of the Divisional Sports Officer at MA Stadium, here.
The team includes Nirbhay Partap Singh (67 kg), who recently won silver medal in the School Nationals, besides other members namely Prashant (61 kg), Ajay Kumar (73 kg) and Akash Virdhy (109 kg). The team is being accompanied by Manish Charak as coach.
