JAMMU, Nov 25: Jammu and Kashmir won 3 medals with 2 gold and one silver in 61st National School Games in the discipline of Speedball Under-19 boys and girls at Rajnandgaon in Chhatisgarh, yesterday.
The State team was sponsored by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
The gold medal was bagged by Gurmanjeet Singh in singles event, while Ankit and Suryansh clinched bronze medals in the doubles event.
J&K got overall third place in the Championship.
The Director General Youth Services and Sports, Jahangir Mir has lauded the efforts of the players and the coaches and managers accompanying them.
The Tournament was held from November 20 to November 24, 2015, wherein majority of States across the county participated and vied for the top honours.
