J&K wins bronze medals in Rowing at 43rd Junior National C’ship

SRINAGAR, Dec 13: In a major achievement, athletes from Jammu & Kashmir marked their presence at the 43rd Junior National Rowing Championship held at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh by clinching Bronze medals.
The championship was held between December 7 to 12, in which 12 participants from the region including four athletes from Khelo India Centre of Excellence, Rowing Nehru Park participated and clinched Bronze medals.
The medal winners were Afak Ali- Main Bow, Adil Ahmad Bhat- Engine Stroke, Irtiza Ali – Engine Bow and Muntazir Ali- Main Stroke. These athletes are trained at J&K Sports Council, Khelo India State Centre of Excellence under the supervision of scientific staff and qualified coaches.
Officials said the bronze medals secured by Afak Ali, Adil Ahmad Bhat, Irtiza Ali, and Muntazir Ali not only brought pride to the Union Territory but contributed to the overall growth and recognition of rowing in the region.
