SRINAGAR, June 7: J&K won the three day long Kashmir Gold Cup Taekwondo Championship title at Indoor Stadium, here today.
Mubarak Gul, MLA was the chief guest, while Aroba Shah, Member Taekwondo Federation of India was the guest of honour. Waseem Raja Khan, Joint Secretary Olympic Association was also present on the occasion.
Various international players from Nepal, Bhutan and other parts of the country participated in the said event.
J&K State (MTC) secured the Gold Cup, Punjab team get the second position and the 3rd position was clinched by UP. Fourth position was bagged by Bhutan while Nepal secured the fifth position.
60 Gold medals, 60 Silver medals, 60 Bronze medals and 80 mementoes were distributed among the participating players.
Mubarak Gul distributed the prizes among the winners and hoped that such events will be held regularly for providing a platform to the local talent and players of the State. He said that organization of such events is a great achievement for the J&K.
