JAMMU, May 29: In a friendly Summer Invitational Tri-Series Cup, Jammu and Kashmir drubbed Tamil Nadu by two matches to nil to lift the title trophy at Green Field ground Gandhi Nagar, here today.
In the first match, J&K trounced Tamil Nadu easily by 6 wickets, while in another match J&K again registered six wickets win over their opponents.
Earlier, batting first Tamil Nadu scored 77 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in stipulated 8 overs. Dilley was the top scorer with 34 runs. Rahul and Sanjeev took 2 wickets each for J&K.
J&K chased the target easily by losing 4 wickets to win the match by 6 wickets. Tony top scored with 38 runs, while for Tamil Nadu, Srinivas captured 3 wickets.
In second match, put into bat, Tamil Nadu bundled out for paltry 53 runs in 7.3 overs with Vijay scoring highest 23 runs. Rahul claimed 3 wickets for J&K.
J&K, in reply scored 56 for 4 in just 4 overs, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Rahul was the major contributor with 28 runs. Vijay scalped 2 wickets for Tamil Nadu.
The Tri-Series was organized by Jammu District Tennis Ball Cricket Association, under the supervision of BK Tickoo and Sadiq Hussain Malik.
Secretary Tennis Ball Cricket Association Tamil Nadu, Gnanavelu was present on the occasion.
