JAMMU, Oct 17: Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police of Basantgarh, Ramnagar, Udhampur  lifted 6th Mathwar Kesari dangal title 2015,  defeating Wrestler Suvodh of UP in the main first malli bout that lasted for 25 minutes at Babo Ballo Dev Shathan, Mathwar in Akhnoor, here.
This vishal dangal was organized by Mathwar Dangal Committee under the chairmanship of Baba Yash Paul Sharma in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Thirty six bouts were played in this one day vishal dangal.
A huge number of spectators from Mathwar, Akhnoor, Jammu and its adjoining areas witnessed the dangal and appreciated the bouts played and efforts of organizers for holding this mega wrestling event.
Speaker J&K Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among winners and runner-up wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, who is also treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MoS Finance, Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Akhnoor, Rajiv Sharma, former Minister, Sham Lal Sharma and Deputy Commissioner were the guests of honour. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Secretary General Indian Style Wrestling Association, Roshan Lal, Arjun Awardee Ashok Kumar and retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma.
Winner of first malli bout Wrestler Benia Min was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 41,000 along with Silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta by Kavinder Gupta while runner-up wrestler Suvodh was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 by Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Second main bout was fought between Sherpal of U.P and Parveen (Bholu) of Delhi. This bout was won by Parveen (Bholu), who was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 while the runners-up wrestler Sherpal got Rs 15,000.
The fight between Bobari of Jammu and Amit of Delhi was adjudged best bout in dangal which was won by Amit of Delhi.
In third bout between Kaka of RS Pura and Farooq of Jammu ended in a draw. Anku of Pathankot beat Akram of Jammu, while Bobari of Jammu trounced Gurpreet of Geerakpur and Amir Khan of Jammu beat Ajay of Delhi.
Those who helped for the smooth conduct of this dangal included Sohan Singh, Jagbir Singh, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Wazir and Murli Dhar (Munna).
