JAMMU, July 8: Brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir at the Under-17 Boys Freestyle National Wrestling Championship 2024, J&K wrestler Abhishek Singh won the bronze medal in the 92 kg Greco Roman weight category. The event was held at Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.
The J&K Wrestling team consisted of 15 wrestlers and one official. In the Bronze medal bout, Abhishek Singh faced Akshay Kumar of Uttarakhand and won the Bronze medal for J&K by (8-0) technical superiority points.
Dheeraj Sharma, Director of selection committee for U-17 National Championship and Jai Bharat, Om Parkash, Ravinder Sharma, Krishan Singh, Raj Kumar, Sahil Dagoria (Member of Selection Committee) and Vireshwar Bhardwaj, Basudev Sharma, president Wrestling Association of J&K appreciated the medal winner wrestler for his achievement.
