JAMMU, Feb 10: Jammu and Kashmir Wrestling Association selected a State team to participate in the 37th Boys Free Style, Greco Roman Style and 20th Women Junior National Wrestling Championship to be held at Jaipur in Rajasthan from February 22 to February 25, 2018.
The team was selected during the selection trials held at Bajrangi Akhara, Shalimar Road, here.
Out of a total of 55 wrestlers who took part in the selection trials, the selected wrestlers included Anil Choudhary, Ashni Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Munir Hussain, Bachan Singh, Gulshan Chib, Shubham Choudhary, Ranjeet Singh, Mohd Asif, Nadeem Ahmed, Vireshwar Sharma, Ajay Chib, Mahil Dogra, Sanjeev Singh, Liaqat Ali, Salinder Singh, Muzzafar Hussain, Pravjot Kour and Priya Devi.
Meanwhile, Ajay Vaid, General Secretary J&K Wrestling Association said that some un-recognised body is misleading the young wrestlers by holding selection trials for the same Championship, despite having no affiliation with Wrestling Federation of India.
