J&K wrestling team leaves for Nationals

JAMMU, Oct 20: J&K Wrestling Association has selected J&K State Senior team, which left today to participate in the 61st Men Free Style, Greeco Roman Style and 19th female Senior National Championship to be held at Nandni Nagar Sports Complex, Nawab Ganj, Goonda, UP from October 23 to 25.
Prior to the final selection of the team, J&K Wrestling Association has organized a coaching camp at Bajrangi Akhara, Shalamar Road for 15 days, where the wrestlers were given daily practice under highly professional and well-qualified coaches.
The wrestlers, who have been selected for the Championship are Gourav Kumar (57 kg), Sukhvinder Singh (61 kg), Bhushan Mehra (65 kg), Munir Ahmed (70 kg), Pankaj Kumar (74 kg), Bhadur Khan (86 kg), Jatinder Singh (97 kg), Salinder Singh (125 kg), Bachan Singh (59 kg), Rashid Ali (66 kg), Ranjit Singh (71 kg), Lovkesh (75 kg), Narinder Singh (80 kg), Ajay Bharti (85 kg), Javed Khan (89 kg) and Ashiq Ahmed (130 kg).
During the final selection, Ashok Khajuria, MLC BJP was the chief guest, who also wished the team good luck. He said that these professional wrestlers not only bring fame to J&K on national level but also provide a good opportunity to the young generation for remaining away from the social evils and maintain good health in general.
Among others present were President, Bajrangi Akhara Pradeep Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Wrestling Association, Ajay Vaid, Swaran Lal, Dheeraj Sharma, Raju Sharma, Mohammad Sadiq, Raj Kumar, Rattan Lal and Sahil Sharma (coach).
