*Barkha declared best actress, Rajesh as best actor

JAMMU, July 7: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) announced awards for recently organized District Drama Festival at Jyotipuram, Reasi, with Rajesh Ajnabi awarded as best actor and Barkha Thakur as best actress.
The six performing groups from Reasi, Kathua and Udhampur participated in the said festival. The adjudicators recommended various awards in production and individual categories.
Ek Tha Gadha Urf Allahdad Khan presented by Abhinaya Kala Manch, Reasi was adjudged as best production while the Play Haadsa Heqeeqat presented by Savrang Kala Sangam, Reasi declared second Best Production.
Best set and Best music has been awarded to the Play Jailey De Qaidi presented by Sanam Theatre Group, Reasi and Best Make-up awarded to Kalyuge Da Parmaatma presented by Raghunath Ramleela and Dramatic Club, Ramkote, Kathua while Best costumes awarded to the Play Memna-a Dogri presentation by Dogra Sahitya Mandal, Ramnagar.
Best lights were awarded to Sushil Abrol and Tarsem for the play Ek Tha Gadha Urf Allahdad Khan. Best Actor awarded to Rajesh Ajnabi for Dogri Play Haadsa Haqeeqat and Best Actress to Barkha Thakur for Dogri Play Jailey De Qaidi, respectively.
Shadaab Khan has been awarded Best Direction Award for the Play Ek Tha Gadha Urf Allahdad Khan while Sughandhi Manhas has been awarded Best Child Artist award for the Play Solution-X.
Vishal Sharma of Dogri Play Kalyuge Da Parmaatma and Miss Saras Bharti of Solution-X awarded 2nd Best Actor and 2nd Best Actress, respectively.
In the consolation categories, Akram Khan has been awarded consolation for Make-up for the play Ek Tha Gadha Urf Allahdad Khan, Rajesh Ajnabi in Direction for the play Haadsa Haqeeqat, Shadaab Khan in Costumes for the play Ek Tha Gadha Urf Allahdad Khan and Sunil Kona in music for the Dogri Play Memna.
Certificates of merit in Acting were awarded to Uplaksh Kotwal as Scientist, Surya Slathia as Meenu both for the Play Solution-X, Meenu Sharma as Malti Sinha, Sahiba Bashir as Chandni and Tarun Sharma as Rahul Sinha all from the play Haadsa Haqeeqat, Rajkumar Sanotra as Bhedia and Vipan Upadhaya as Memna both from the Play Memna, Rajesh Narang as Gara from the Play Jailey de Qaidi, Sarang Khajuria as Naujwan, Balwinder as Shah and Pardeep Khajuria as Munshi, all from the Dogri Play Kalyug Da Parmaatma.
Similarly, the merit certificates in acting were awarded to Arvind Goswami as Allahdad Khan, Tarsem Kumar as Kotwal, Sachdev Singh as Nawab and Alka Thakur as Ramkali, all from the Play Ek Tha Gadha Urf Allahdad Khan.
Dr Kamal Sharma, Bodh Raj Meini and Raj Rahi were among the adjudicators for the above said Drama Festival of districts of Reasi, Udhampur and Kathua.
