JKAACL organizes cultural prog in Sidh Baba Goria Mela

JAMMU, June 24: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organized a cultural programme during annual Sidh Goria Swankha Mela at Swankha in Samba district.
Mukesh Sharma, BDO, Ramgarh was the chief guest on the occasion, while Jang S Verman, senior artist and columnist on art and culture was the special guest.
The folk and traditional singers and musicians presented their cultural items in tune with the need and spirit of the spiritual get-together in the week long mela at Swankha. The artists in traditional dresses presented folk and traditional music forms like Kaarkan, Bhajan, Kissa Pooran Bhagat, Bhajan on Sidh Baba and so on. A large number of devotees gathered in the Mela listened to the musical items and applauded the items presented by various music parties of the area.
The music parties those presented folk and traditional music included Raj Kumar and party, Ravi Dutta and party, Kewal Kumar and Party, Nav Usha and party, Krishan Lal and party and Subhash Chander and party. These parties belong to the areas situated near Swankha in Vijaypur and Samba areas.
Mahant Bhola Nath, Head of the Temple blessed the artists and the guests of the programme.
Earlier, welcoming the audience and guests, Popinder Singh Paras, officiating Deputy Secretary, JKAACL and Incharge of the event highlighted the programmes and activities of the academy.
Ashok Sharma and Sat Salarvi anchored the cultural programme, while Sanjay Mehta assisted the cultural programme.
