JAMMU, Sept 4: As part of Hindi Diwas celebrations, 2014, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, in collaboration with Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi, today organized a Hindi Kahani Goshthi in the school premises.
Renowned poet Satish Vimal was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof Rattan Lal Shaant, prominent Hindi writer, presided over the function.
Principal of the school, Ram Prakash, Additional Secretary JKAACL, Dr Arvinder Singh Aman, besides faculty members and a large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Satish Vimal said that Hindi Kahani Goshthi has vast field and today’s short stories presented in the function proved to be an added feather in the field of Hindi short story writing.
Prof Rattan Lal Shaant said that first attempt in the field of Hindi short story needs to be applauded as all the short stories indicate that these students have potential. He thanked JKAACL for organizing the programme, which would provide a platform to the students to display their hidden talent.
Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL, said that holding such literary activities in educational institutions would provide an opportunity to students to interact with established writers of the region as also to reflect their talent. He also thanked Principal of the school for the support school extended for organizing the event.
The students and writers who participated in the programme included Simran Sahni, Anie Vaid, Neha Verma, Gurneet Kaur. The established story writers included Rajneesh Gupta, Balram Saini, Maharaj Krishan, Santoshi and Prof Kiran Bakshi.
