JKAP scripts narrow win over Lucky Star

JAMMU, Nov 28: Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) XI defeated Lucky Star Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 16 runs in the ongoing J&K Police Friendship Cup, being jointly organized by Young Star Cricket Club, J&K Police and Simula Software at MA Stadium, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, JKAP scored a good total of 142 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Ashwani top scored with 36 runs, studded with 4 boundaries, while Pankaj Ladda contributed 34 runs which included 5 fours and one six. Sahil Charak and RK Bhat also contributed 25 and unbeaten 14 runs to the total respectively. Ashu took 2 wickets for Lucky Star Cricket Club, while Vicky, Rocky and Tony claimed one wicket each.
Lucky Star Club, in reply managed to score 126 runs in the allotted overs to lose the match by 16 runs. Tony scored 41 runs with 5 boundaries, while Vicky and Dinesh contributed 29 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Left-arm spinner, Rompy Sharma claimed 2 wickets by conceding 21 runs in his four overs, while Ashwani, Yasir, Ashiq and Sunny claimed one wicket each. Ashwani was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Singh and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Sohail was the scorer.
Vishal Cricket Club will take on HPCC in the next match tomorrow.
