SAMBA, June 25: Independent Corporator from Ward Number 13 in Vijaypur, Ravi Kumar today joined Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) along with supporters.
In a statement, the Independent Corporator from Ward Number 13 of Vijaypur joined the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party in presence of Madan Lal Chalotra along with his supporters.
Chalotra welcomed him to the party. Later, they met former Minister and senior leader of JKAP, Manjit Singh at his residence. The Corporator’s decision to join JKAP was hailed by the former Minister who in response assured his party will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling all the genuine demands of the people.
“We work for the people without discrimination. People have rejected the divisive policies and time has come when JKAP’s policies are being supported by the people who want peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Manjit Singh.
The former Minister, speaking on the occasion, said JKAP with its progressive policies and efforts to unite people has generated a hope in the political system of Jammu and Kashmir where they faced rejected and unfulfilled promises.
“The people were deprived of what they were promised during elections. The policy of making false promises is over. JKAP stands with the people and their genuine demands. We do not give emotional slogs. We do what we assure,” said Manjit Singh.
Manjit Singh reminded the delegations that their support is required to strengthen the party so that the issues of general masses are redressed.
“Time and again, JKAP remained at the forefront to highlight the suffering of the people. When other political parties remained silent, we forcefully raised our voice for restoration of statehood and domicile rights for the locals on jobs and land,” he said.
The Corporator complimented former Minister and senior JKAP leader, Manjit Singh the Municipal Committee’s office was in worst condition, but with the intervention of Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu after the JKAP leaders brought it in his notice.
“Our office has been shifted to another location and it is in good condition,” said Manjit Singh.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Madan Lal Chalotra (OBC leader), vice-chairman Municipal Committee, Vijaypur, Neelam Devi, corporator Nicky Mahajan (ex-president, Municipal Committee, Vijaypur) Som Lal, Harbans Lal, and others.
