JKAP XI enters Police Friendship Cup finals

JAMMU, Dec 22: Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) XI drubbed Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) in the semifinal to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing J&K Police Friendship Cup 2012 at MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, batting first, RCC scored 131 for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Wicketkeeper batsman Raman Thaploo was the top scorer with 47 runs, while Ajay Sharma contributed unbeaten 46 runs to the total. Thaploo smashed one four and 2 sixes in his knock, while Ajay hit 4 boundaries in his innings. Ishan also contributed 21 runs to the total. For JKAP XI, Himanshu captured 3 wickets, while Omesh claimed one.
In reply, JKAP XI, chased the target in 18 overs by losing 4 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Pankaj Lada was the top scorer with 48 runs, while Ashwani and Yasir contributed 29 and 27 runs to the total respectively. Lada smashed 4 fours and one six, Ashwani 3 fours and one six and Yasir 3 boundaries in their knocks. For RCC, Muddasir bagged 2 wickets, while Veenus, Satish and Kuldeep claimed one wicket each.
Pankaj Lad of JKAP XI was declared man of the match for his brilliant knock.
The match was officiated by Suhail and Raman as umpires, while Sandeep was the scorer.
