JAMMU, Oct 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) have announced Under-16 cricket team for 3rd edition of Balram Ji Das Tandon Memorial Tournament-2023 (BDTMT) here today.
The 15- member squad will be led by Shiva Thakur while as Mohammad Zaid Mufti has been named as the Vice Captain of the team. The other team members are Arjun Sharma, Rahil Younis, Samarth Sawhney, Nityam Sharma, Shourya Chouhan, Aarit Nagpal, Mohammad Shifan, Manitvya Sharma, Arun Kumar, Jeevesh Gupta, Irfan Ashraf, Saksham Charak and Asrar Azhad.
The match scheduled for J&K team is from 19 to 20 October with Chandigarh at Baba Balaknath Ground while as the second match will be played against Mizoram on October 22 & 23 at Cricket Institute of Chandigarh. The tournament will commence from October 19 to November 1 at Chandigarh.
The statement said in the phase-I of the tournament the league matches will be played while as in the phase-II Sami-finals and finals will be held. Before selection of the team, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association had organized a selection camp for Under-16 boys at Hostel Ground Jammu from October 14 to 16 to finalise the squad for the tournament.
