JAMMU, May 30: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Blues team registered a big win by 84 runs over Laxmi Cricket Club (LCC) to advance in the ongoing Under-14 Boys Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu wing of JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Put into bat, JKCA Blues rode on handsome contributions from Deepanshu Bhat and Sanchit Dass to put a decent total of 212 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Deepanshu slammed a fabulous half-century, scoring quick-fire 56 runs off 40 balls with the help of 9 delectable boundaries, while Sanchit contributed well made 48 runs off 57 balls with 5 crispy boundaries. Both the batsmen were in sublime touch and struck shots with utmost timing, fluid grace and utter brilliance. Prince Gupta also hit power-packed 28 runs including 6 boundaries, while Nikhil Garoo also contributed sedate 28 runs in 43 balls with one boundary. Anmol was pick of the bowlers for Laxmi Club, who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 21 runs in his quota of 6 overs, while Harsh took the other two wickets to fell.
In reply, Laxmi Club batsmen saw themselves in troubled waters against the disciplined bowling by Rahul Sagotra, Ashish and Raghav, who wrecked havoc in the rival camp by taking 4, 3 and 2 wickets respectively to bundle them out for 128 runs in 28 overs. Harsh Sodhi played a brisk innings of 35 runs off just 20 balls, which included 6 classical boundaries, while Jagteshwar contributed 25 runs to the total and Ishan scored 10.
