JKCA Blues to lock horns with Reds in U-14 Cricket

JAMMU, June 3: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Blues registered a resounding 65-run win over JK Public School in the semifinal to seal berth in the finals of the U-14 Boys Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Now, JKCA Blues would face JKCA Reds in the summit clash on June 6 at the same venue.
Earlier, batting first, JKCA Blues posted a decent total of 173 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Sanchit Dass made his willow to talk by scoring 57 runs in 68 balls with 2 boundaries. He along with Nikhil Garoo (32) made a partnership of 90 runs for the opening wicket and the specialty of their partnership was that they accumulated the maximum number of runs in singles and twos. Prince played a brisk innings of 38 runs off 32 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. For JK Public School Arjun scalped 3 wickets and Altamash claimed one.
JK Public School, in reply bundled out for meagre 108 runs in 22.5 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 65 runs. Altamash was the top scorer with 24 runs, while Sahij Deep Singh, Sahil and Jasif contributed 18, 17 and 16 runs to the total respectively.
Right-arm leg spinner Satvik Kohli was the wrecker-in-chief, who captured 5 important wickets in 4.4 overs by conceding just 7 runs, while Ashish, Raghav, Surgan and Yogesh claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Sandeep Singh and Abhinav Bali as umpires, while Sanjeev maintained the scorebook.
