JAMMU, May 31: To involve more women with cricketing activities and hunt talent, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) will be organizing province level women cricket tournament from 3rd week of June at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
According to a handout issued here by Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, retired Judge and Member, Committee of Members JKCA, the teams from all ten districts of Jammu province desirous to take part in the tournament will have to submit their entries with Manish Angral at JKCA Offices Bathindi or GGM Science College ground, Jammu by or before June 8, 2018. No team will be entertained after June 8.
“The good performers of the tournament will be shortlisted for consideration of the selection trials to be held later in the season by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association to pick the teams to represent the State in the tournaments being organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India under various age categories,” Mr Jang informed.
He said the players will have to perform under the watchful eyes of the selectors to be nominated by the Association soon.
“The focus will be on discipline and sportsman spirit of the players, managers, coaches and selectors,” Mr Jang added.
