JKCA to develop Mini Cricket Stadium in Bhaderwah : Mehboob Iqbal

BHADERWAH, Dec 7:  Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is establishing a high tech Mini Sports Stadium at Bhaderwah.
Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association and will handover its sports ground to JKCA within three months so that it will start construction work to develop a Stadium.
This was stated by Chairman JKCA, Mehboob Iqbal while addressing a press conference at Bhaderwah.
He informed that he has inspected the site for proposed stadium in the  beautiful location of Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University and some 300 kanals of land has been identified for the construction of a cricket stadium and allied facilities.
“The expected completion of the Stadium is 2017 and the construction work will start in May next year and it has a capacity of 50,000 spectators,” Mr Iqbal added.
He said the Stadium design has been finalized and promised to develop the outfield with Australian grass after preparing two pitches in the middle of new cricket stadium.
Those who were present on the occasion included Thakur Yudvir Singh, Abdul Hafeez  Wani, Shokat Malik, Irshad Sheikh, Advocate Fareed Beg  and Abdul Rashid Ganai.
