JAMMU, Sept 21: Several Working Committee members of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) along with large number of former and current cricketers and coaches have opposed the move of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to shift the home matches of JKCA teams to Mohali.
In a press statement issued here today, the WC members and cricketers have termed the move as a motivated one and have held JKCA responsible for this shocking affair.
Terming the decision shameful and against the sanctity, spirit and promotion of sports, the members said that the decision is an insult on the part of the State, especially Jammu province and portraits picture of the sinister designs of so-called administrators of JKCA.
They said there was no fun in shifting the matches as the matches are to be held in the month of November, with the main ground in Jammu being in a good shape to hold quality matches.
Meanwhile, they informed that a massive protest would be held at the GGM Science College Hostel Ground at 3 pm tomorrow (Monday), wherein the protestors would appeal the Chief Minister to look into the matter seriously and resolve the issue with the BCCI.
