JAMMU, Mar 19: JKCA Blue and JKCA Yellow registered convincing wins over their rivals in the ongoing trial matches, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association for picking the players to represent the State in prestigious Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket Tournament, commencing from March 24, 2015 at Delhi.
Earlier, in the first match, JKCA Yellow defeated JKCA Green by 36 runs.
Bating first, JKCA Yellow scored a fighting total of 138 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Hardeep Singh scored 50 runs, while Aamir Sofi and Rohit Bhat contributed 17 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Skipper Parvez Rasool and Amir Aziz chipped in with 13 runs each. For Green, Rohit Sharma and Wasim Raza claimed 2 wickets each, while Bandeep Singh and Umar Nazir claimed one wicket each.
In reply, JKCA Green bundled-out for 102 runs to lose the match by 36 runs. Rouf Bisati top scored with 21 runs, while Wasim Raza contributed 15 runs to the total. For JKCA Yellow, Deepak Singh Manhas scalped 3 wickets and Parvez Rasool took 2 wickets. Sahil Sharma and Amir Aziz claimed one wicket each.
In another match, JKCA Blue got better of JKCA Red in a thrilling contest by 4 runs.
Batting first, JKCA Blue scored 144 runs, with Imran Haroon, Pranav Gupta, Parveen Singh and Vishwajeet Singh contributing 40, 31, 27 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Vijay Dogra took 3 wickets, while Abid Nabi and Jahangir Lone claimed one wicket each.
JKCA Red, in reply scored 140 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 4 runs. Asif Khan and skipper Ian Dev Singh contributed 40 and 30 runs to the total respectively. For JKCA Blues, Vishwajeet Singh bagged 3 wickets, While Ramdayal took 2. Manik Gupta, Umar Alam and Raman Dutta claimed one wicket each.
