JAMMU, Oct 13: J&K Citizen Advisory Forum (JKCAF) organized lecture on surgical strikes by Indian Army titled “Change of Indian Strategy from Strategic Restraint to Offensive Defence” and another lecture on “Indus Water Treaty and its Complexities”.
On the occasion, Justice (Rtd) KK Gupta, Patron-in-Chief of the Forum presided over the lectures.
While introducing the speakers and the topics, IC Jandial Chairman of the Forum said that both the topics are very sensitive issues and currently a household discussion.
Brig (Retd) Sukhdev Singh and HB Khajuria, Chief Engineer (Rtd) were facilitators in this symposium.
While speaking on surgical strikes, Brig Sukhdev Singh said that Indian Army ranks among the best in the world and this has been demonstrated time and again. He gave a brief overview of the surgical strikes.
HB Khajuria explained the background of Indus Water Treaty and the circumstances under which this treaty was signed and its significance. Jandial in his concluding remarks said that the role of Army in surgical strikes is commendable and unquestionable and no politics be played by any individual or a political party. He strongly recommended review of Indus Water Treaty.
Earlier, welcome address was presented by Munish Gupta and in the end, vote of thanks was presented by Arvind Mahajan both leading businessmen of Jammu.
