JAMMU, Sept 8: On the occasion of World Literacy Day, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) in collaboration with NPCI and NABARD today held a financial literacy workshop on e-payment in the auditorium of Jammu Club.
The programme is being celebrated throughout the Country at 120 centres supported by all 56 Regional Rural Banks.
The participants who attended the workshop were familiarized with the IT related facilities provided to the customers in general and customs of ATMs and its numerous features.
RK Chhibber, Chairman, JKGB, who was the chief guest on the occasion, released a smart payments’ E-Book Manual that was presented to banks across all locations by NPCI officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Chhibber highlighted the importance of e-payment in present day scenario and also highlighted the role of Regional Rural Banks in financial inclusion and asked all stakeholders and customers to optimally utilize state of the art payment products that are designed to suit the customized needs of customers from different walks of the society.
NPCI is maintaining Make in India gateway, i.e. RuPay gateway, first of its kind in India, on which a detailed presentation was given by Dheeraj Bhardwaj, NPCI representative from Delhi.
The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Gurcharan Singh, General Manager of the Bank.
