JKIPRS celebrates National PR Day by organizing seminar

JAMMU, Apr 21: J&K State Integration and Public Relations Society (JKIPRS) organized a seminar on the topic “Role of public relations to strengthen cooperative movement in Nation building” on the occasion of National PR Day here at KL Saigal Hall.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Assembly was the chief guest whereas Swami Rai Sharma, former Commissioner/Secretary, presided over the function.
The welcome address was presented by Anil K Padha, chairman, J&K State Integration and Public Relations Society, who explained the role of PR and its importance to strengthen cooperative movement in National building. He also cited the best example of “Amul Dairy Products from Gujarat which is a Cooperative Society and said that we need to be replicate in our State the Amul Model of Cooperatives”.
The key note address was given by Swami Rai Sharma, who has served as Deputy Commissioner in seven districts beside being Registrar, Cooperative Societies in J&K. Sharma laid stress on strengthening the Cooperative Societies at the gross level and ensuring its sustenance with proper Government policy, which, he said, at present does not seem to be the priority of the State Government and hence needs special attention.
Swami Raj Sharma was presented Life Time Achievement Award by the chief guest on the occasion. The 1st ever Annual News Letter of JKIPRS was also released to mark the National PR Day by the chief guest.
Kavinder Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the JKIPRS in organizing a seminar to bring to the focus the cooperative movement and congratulated its members on the National PR Day. He also added that the need of the day is to revive the cooperative movement in the State and appealed the head of various Cooperative Societies to join hands with the Government to achieve its target.
