JAMMU, Dec 8: J&K Judo Association facilitated its players Shweta Thakur and Danish Sharma of Regional Coaching Centre Jammu who won medals in the Senior National Judo Championship which was held at Chandigarh, recently.
The ace judokas were honoured in a function, organized by J&K Judo Association. Shweta Thakur won gold medal and Danish Sharma claimed bronze medal in this Championship. Shweta Thakur also won gold medal in the last Senior National Championship held at Dehradun.
Both the judokas also represented Indian Judo Team in World University Games. Prominent among others present on  the occasion were Dr Ashutosh Sharma, Chairman Affiliation Committee of Indian Olympic Association and general secretary J&K Olympic Association, Kuldeep Singh, Sr. vice president J&K Judo Association, RC Thakur, vice president J&K Judo Association, Vikas Gupta, general secretary J&K Judo Association and Joint Secretary Judo Federation of India. Varinder Dogra treasurer, Shiv Kumar joint secretary and Suraj Sharma of J&K Judo Association.
The coaches who were present on the occasion were Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra and Ritika Slathia.
The team was accompanied by coaches Vikas Dogra and Ritika Slathia and the manager Mohd Mushtaq.
Thakur Rachpal Singh, president J&K Judo Association lauded the efforts of the medal winners for this achievement.
