JAMMU, Sept 18: All the district units of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh), today submitted memorandums to the Prime Minister, HRD Minister, Chief Minister and Education Minister J&K, through the respective Deputy Commissioners.
Headed by the district presidents and secretaries, the JKLTF delegations called on their respective Deputy Commissi-oners and submitted copies of the memorandum, addressed to PM Narendra Modi, HRD Minister Prakash Javdaker’ Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Altaf Bukhari.
In the memorandum, the JKLTF has demanded removal of anomalies of Sixth Pay Commission, implementation of the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission uniformly throughout the country, restoration of the Pension scheme in all schools, enhancement of retirement age of the school teachers to 65 years, regular and permanent appointment on educational posts and strengthening of trainings of teachers.
The JKLTF also demanded free health care facility to all school teachers for proper medical cover, independent and autonomous regulatory commission for planning regulation and control of education system, restructuring of the Education system by incorporating National identity, Indian values, human and character building, social concerns, fundamental thinking, research and innovation, etc. The Federation has stressed that 10 percent of GDP and 30 percent of State budget should be spent on education so as to make basic amenities like teachers, books, building, play grounds etc available to the students.
The delegations were led by Dev Raj Thakur (State president), Ratan Sharma (State Secy), Maheshwar Prasad (State vice president), Darshan Bharti (State vice president), Arun Sharma (Jammu Distt president), Pawan Kumar, Neeraj Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Shivdev Singh, Kusum Lata, Radha Krishan (Udhampur district president) and Surjit Singh.
