JKMEF urges Govt to conduct DPC of all health employees

RAMBAN, Nov 2: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employee Federation (JKMEF) today demanded the Government to conduct DPC of all Health employees and create more posts of pharmacists at district, sub-district and block level to address the shortage of pharmacists.
The demands were raised during a one-day conference of the Federation held today at Block Ukhral under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan, J&K president, JKMEF Jammu.
Addressing the conference, Sushil Sudan urged the Government to consider the long pending demands of medical employees. He said Departmental promotions of all categories have not been done from last four years as a result of which all the Health employees are suffering. Sudan demanded the Government to clear DPC at par with Government Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization on the pattern of Executive Order passed by the Administrative Department till the SRO-20 (Recruitment Rules) is modified.
He also laid stress on creation of more posts of Senior Pharmacists at Sub District Hospitals and District Hospitals, and upgradation of the posts of Pharmacists as Senior Pharmacist, Supervisor Pharmacist, Head Pharmacist, to Block Pharmacy Officers and District Pharmacy Officer.
The JKMEF president said that despite introduction of J&K Re-organization Act 2019, the Government of U T of J&K is still allowing J&K Para Medical Council to deal with matters concerning with Pharmacists interests and the courses in Pharmacy are being currently regulated in terms of J&K Para Medical Council Act, 2014. Necessary amendment in the said Act is urgently required to omit these courses from its ambit, he added.
During the conference, Block Ukhral body of JKMEF was elected. The body included Shaheen Ahmed Katoch Pharmacist as president, Anita Devi as vice president, Melad Rashid Shah as general secretary, Tariq Aziz as joint secretary, Jarnail Singh as cashier, Mohd Ayoub Daing and Mohd Ashraf Wani as auditors, Nisar Ahmed Sheikh, Shakil Ur Rehman and Mushtaq Ahmed Naik as advisor, Sajad Hussain, Haroon Rashid Shah, Shabir Ahmed Runyal and Shabir Ahmed Sheikh as organiser, Firdoos Ahmed Bhat and Ch Mohd Yousuf Rahi as spokesperson, Jai Krishan Raina as publicity secretary and Tariq Ahmed Runyal as junior publicity secretary.
