SAMBA, Nov 25: The Youth president of Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and former Minister, Yash Paul Kundal has demanded the de- limitation of the Assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir.
While talking to reporters at Vijaypur, today he said that the Election Commission had also made it clear in the past that after the order of the Home Minister of the country, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly can implement the rules of the Delimitation Commission.
The former Minister said that when the BJP had contested elections in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014, it had promised that if its Government would be framed then the Delimitation Commission would be constituted in Jammu and Kashmir, but the Government has not yet constituted the Commission. Kundal said that the people of Jammu gave 25 MLAs to the BJP and two Parliament members,(MPs) yet the people of Jammu did not get justice.
Former Minister said that the population in Kashmir is less but the Assembly seats are more. If seen, the population of Jammu division is much higher than that of Kashmir, but the Assembly seats are very less. This way the Jammu region has been subjected to grave injustice, he added.
He was accompanied by Mohinder Singh youth president, NPP of the district Samba, Arun Khajuria, Panther Party senior leader and Ashok Kumar on the occasion.
