UDHAMPUR, June, 11: Demanding immediate repair/ black toping of roads, repair of damaged transformer, regular power and drinking water supply, supply of ration in time on every month, payment of relief to flood & rain affected families and filling of all vacant posts of doctors and para medical staff in District Hospital Udhampur Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party held a demonstration here today.
The protest march was led by Balwant Singh Mankotia president JKNPP.
Party workers from different parts of district gathered at Slathia Chowk Udhampur and protested against the non serious approach of State Government towards the problems of the people of Udhampur. They accused the Government of ignoring Udhampur district on developmental front after Assembly polls and formation of BJP-PDP Government in the State.
The protest march started from Slathia Chowk and culminated at Dy. Commissioner’s Office, Udhampur. The protesters also blocked Dhar road for one hour in support of their demands.
While addressing the protestors in front of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mr. Mankotia blamed the State Government for its total failure to carry forward the development activities in Udhampur Constituency. He said that almost six months back Assembly polls were held in the State but local elected representatives totally failed to carry forward even single development works including routine development works of black toping of city / rural roads, regular ration supply , repair of damaged transformer, regular drinking water supply out of existing supply schemes & improving health care facility as district hospital is facing shortage of doctors & para medical staff . He said that almost 50% staff in District Hospital has been transferred / shifted in past three month due to which local patient are forced to shift in Medical Collage Jammu or other part of country including Delhi, Chandigarh & Punjab. But poor families are not able to shift the patients out side the State due to which hundreds of people are losing their precious lives with out medical treatment he urged the Health Minister to provide required staff in District Hospital Udhampur.
