JAMMU, Jan 16: A special general body meeting of J&K Olympic Association was held at Amar Singh Club, here today wherein representatives of 23 Associations participated.
Two minutes of silence was observed in the memory of Virjender Sawhney (Patil) general secretary J&K Swimming Association before the start of the meeting.
The President of the Association informed the members about the code of conduct and new guidelines approved by the Union Ministry. According to the code of conduct, no main office bearer (above 70 Years) can fight for any post. The president/general secretary cannot enjoy more than three terms/two terms of four years each respectively, and it was also decided that all UT Sports Associations affiliated to JKOA will conduct their elections. “If due within 45 days from 15th of January 2023 failing which they will be considered as associate members without voting rights,” he said.
A committee was constituted consisting of five members to work out the modalities of the same with the J&K Sports Council during the meeting.
