JKP, KC Sports Club storm into semis of Eid-Diwali Cup

JAMMU, Nov 13:  JKP Cricket XI  and KC Sports  Club  registered emphatic wins over their rivals to enter into the  semifinals of the ongoing 3rd Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, played at Gulshan Ground , here today.
The Tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu and jointly organized by J&K Police, Simula Software and Atman College. Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy player is organizing secretary of the tournament.
In the first match today, JKP XI defeated Aircel Cricket Club by 71 runs.
Batting first, JKP XI scored a decent total of 176 runs in the allotted 20 overs for loss of 5 wickets, with skipper Rajesh Gill top scoring with 53 runs, while Pankaj Singh, Vishwajeet  and Jatin Wadhawan contributed 31, 28 and 27 runs to the total respectively. Sunil Sambyal and Rakesh took 2 wickets each for Aircel XI.
Aircel XI, in reply, could not chase the target and were bundled out in 19 overs at 106 runs, thus lost the match by  71 runs. Balbir Singh was the top scorer with 46 runs, while Sunil Sambyal contributed 30 runs to the total. Rajesh Gill, Shamsher Singh, Rompy Sharma and Jatin shared 2 wickets each for JKP XI, while Vishwajeet and Pankaj took 1 wicket each. Rajesh Gill was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
In the second match, KC Sports XI scripted a thrilling win over RCC Srinagar in a close contest.
Batting first, RCC Club made 148 runs in the allotted 18 overs for 8 wickets, with Sahil Sharma (37), Satish (24) and  Rohit (16) being the main scorers. Abhishant and Abhishek took 3 wickets each, while Noushad took 2 and Vivek one.
In reply, KC Sports Club achieved the target in 17.4 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Amritpal Singh top scored with brilliant 74 runs, while Romy and Ateev Sainy contributed 29 and 18  runs to the total respectively. Dilbag Singh took 3 wickets for RCC Srinagar, while Rohit claimed one. Amritpal Singh was declared man of the match.
Another match was played between Simula Cricket Club and Rehari Club.
Batting first, Simula Cricket Club scored a modest total of 106 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Anshuman, Atul and Dhruv contributed 25, 22 and 11 runs respectively. Jatinder took 3 wickets for RCC, while Rohit, Monu and Anil shared 2 wickets each and Rahil Singh claimed one.
Rehari Club, in reply, achieved the target in 13.4 overs by losing 4 wickets. Ehatasham scored unbeaten 58 runs, while  Shahzad Ali (24) and Manish Dogra (20) were the other notable contributors. Somay Jain took 2 wickets,whereas Dhruv and Mohit shared one wicket each. Ehatsham was declared man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Sandeep Manchanda, Suhail Yusuf, Balwan, Amandeep and Yogesh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, RCC Srinagar will lock horns with United Blues at 8 am, Tanishta XI will face Rehari Club at 11am and Atman XI will take on Country Cricket Academy at 1 pm.
