JKP organizes cultural evening for visiting hockey players

JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police organizes a cultural evening for the national level visiting hockey players at Gulshan Ground here last evening. Best singers of the State thronged the venue and gave their mesmerizing performance.
The players keenly witnessed and enjoyed the performance of singers. The audience hailed the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its endeavour to organizing such cultural evening in honor of the visiting teams.
Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, who was chief guest on the occasion while addressing the audience, said that in addition to its professional duties, the organization has been conducting such activities and providing a platform to the young artists to nourish their hidden talent which could boost their future career.
Rajendra said that JKP has been organizing various events, to promote sports and providing opportunities to the budding players in various competitions, besides cultural activities in the State. The department has already taken several initiatives to promote sports activities in the State and assistance has been provided to the youth to make them able to participate in various national level sports competitions.
On the occasion, the DGP distributed mementoes among the participating teams.
Among others, the function was attended by ADGPs, VK Singh, Dilbag Singh and L. Mohanti, IGPs, Yogiinder Koul, Danish Rana, MA Ganai and SA Watali, DIGPs, Alok Kumar, AA Wani, Surinder Kumar and Nisar Ahmed, SSP, Sunil Kumar and other police officers.
