JKP outplays Bihar in All India Police Hockey C’ship

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Hockey team outplayed Bihar Police team in the 62nd All India Police Hockey Championship by four goals to nil (4-0).  The J&K Police will now be locking horns with Andhra Pradesh in the next round.
The championship is being hosted by Karnatka State Police at the Astro Turf Hockey stadium, Shantinagar Banglore.
A total of 27 teams representing various States, Union Territories and Central Police Organizations are vying for top honour in the ongoing championship. National players including Gagan Ajit Singh, Sandeep Singh, Rajpal Singh, Gurbaj Singh, Jagbir Singh and Mukesh Kumar are participating and representing their respective teams.
The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, SM Sahai lauded the J&K Police Hockey team for its performance so far in the tournament. He said that such type of events provide opportunity to the players to refine their talent. He insisted the players of the team to utilize the championship as an opportunity so as to carve out a niche for themselves in the field at the higher level.
