JKP takes on Khalsa Club in 3rd Christmas T20 Cup final today

JAMMU, Jan18: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, JKP XI and Khalsa Club have made it to the finals of the ongoing 3rd Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Cup for College students and J&K cricketers at Parade Cricket Ground, here today.
Now, the two teams will be facing each other in the title clash tomorrow.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu and Fr Kuriakose, chairman Christian Sports Organization. While Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy player is the organizing secretary of the tournament.
Earlier, in the first match, Khalsa XI defeated Samar Club by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Samar Club scored 138 runs in stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Chetan Singh Chib (44) was the top scorer, while Harinder (15) and Prithvi (14) were the other contributors. Nitin took 3 wickets, while Ricky, Kalu, Prithi and Manu claimed 1 wicket each.
Khalsa XI, in reply, achieved the target in 17 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Prithi top scored with 42 runs, while Aamir made 38 runs and Lakhan contributed 21 runs to the total. Amar took 2 wickets, while KK and Amrit claimed 1 wicket each for Samar Club. Prithi was declared as man of the match.
In another semifinal, JKP XI scripted a comfortable win against Sarveshwar Club.
Batting first, JKP XI scored a decent total of 166 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Suman Koul (45), Jatin (37) and Shashi (22) were the main scorers. Pardeep took 3 wickets for Sarveshwar, while Sadam, Ankush and Anil claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Sarveshwar bundled out for 110 runs in 17 overs, thus lost the match by 56 runs. Kavi (29), Saqib (25) and Narotam (17) were the main scorers. Vishal Singh Bhau was the wrecker-in-chief for JKP XI, who scalped 5 important wickets, while Ankush Bandral took 3 wickets. Rajesh Gill and Shamsher Singh Manhas shared 1 wicket each. Vishal Singh Bhau was adjudged as man of the match for his 5-wicket haul.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Suhail Yusuf, Nitu Khokher, Sanju, Vinod and Farooq.
According to the organizers, the final match between JKP XI and Khalsa Club will be played from 11.30 am at the same venue tomorrow and the Prize Distribution Function will be held at 3.30 pm.
