JKP Tigers, Banihal Knight Riders, Chenab Tigers win ties

JAMMU, Apr 27: Quarterfinal position has been cleared as JKP Tigers, Banihal Knight Riders and Chenab Tigers registered empathic wins over their rivals in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
In the three matches played today, Banihal Knight Riders got better of BCC Bulls by 41 runs,  Chenab Tigers defeated Jammu Royal Choice XI by 9 wickets and JKP XI prevailed over Simula Superstars by a narrow margin of 15 runs in a tough contest.
Rajeshwar Singh SSP was the chief guest on the occasion, who gave away the cash prizes and trophies to the winning teams and outstanding players.
Earlier, in the first match, Banihal Knight Riders winning the toss and batting first scored 123 runs in the allotted 18 overs, losing 8 wickets during the process.
In reply, BCC Bulls managed to score 82 runs to lose the match by 41 runs. Sajad Ahmed of Banihal Knight Riders made 40 runs, while Asif contributed 37 runs to the total. Sajad was declared as man of the match.
In another match, Jammu Royal Choice XI electing to bat first scored a modest total of 113 runs in the stipulated overs by losing 7 wickets in the process.
In reply, Chenab Tigers won easily by 9 wickets.  Ishtiaq Rasool top scored with 48 runs, while Adil Rishi contributed with unbeaten 41 runs and also took one wicket. Adil Rishi was declared as man of the match for his all-round show.
In the 3rd match played today, JKP Tigers won the toss and set a target of 153 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Simula Superstars manage to score 138 runs to lose the match by 15 runs.
Jatin of JKP Tigers made highest score of 43, Jahangir Lone contributed 35 runs and Ishtiaq chipped in with quick-fire 29 runs. Jatin was declared as man of the match. Hilal Rather, Sameer Khajuria, Dhruv Mahajan and Kuldip Kumar of Simula superstars claimed one wicket each, while for JKP Tigers, Rajesh Gill took 2 wickets, while Ishtiaq, Shamsher and Ashraf claimed one wicket each.
In tomorrow’s quarterfinal matches, Chenab Tigers will take on Chenab Gas Royals at 10 am and Banihal Knight Riders will face Simula Superstars at 2 pm.
