JKP to lock horns with J&K Bank in football final

SRINAGAR, June 24: Defeating equally balanced side of J&K Forest, the Jammu and Kashmir Forest team qualified for the finals of the ongoing State Football Championship and will lock horns with J&K Bank in the summit clash at Polo Ground, here.
Earlier, in the semifinal, JKP opened the account in the 10th minute of the match through a superb goal pelted by Manmohan Singh. However, Forest team scored an equalizer through Toufeeq Ahmed in 30th minute. JKP came back strongly and achieved a penalty kick in the dieing moments of the game and converted it into a goal to finally win the match by two goals to one (2-1).
Meanwhile, in the A Division League match, Kashmir United held Novelty Blue to a goalless draw.
In the Annual League Football Tournament, Shaheen Sports will take on Royal Sports at 3:30 pm, while in Super Division match, Food and Supplies will face Kashmir Mughals at 5 pm tomorrow.
