JKP wrestler Benia lifts Bani Kesari dangal title

KATRA, May 31: Toppling Punjab wrestler Paramveer in the main bout easily, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) wrestler Benia of Basantgarh in Udhampur lifted the Annual Bani Kesari dangal title, organized by Menwal Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, here today.
The winner was presented a cash prize of rupees 15000 along with traditional silver gurj by Binam Tosh, Additional SP Udhampur and treasurer of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, while the runner-up was presented rupees 10000 by the chief guest on the occasion.
President J&K Indian Style Association and Member J&K State Sports Council presided over the function.
In all 51 bouts were played in the day long dangal, wherein the second main bout between Gani of Mallerkotla and Sagar of Delhi, ended in a draw. Both the wrestlers were awarded with a cash prize of rupees 21000 by Shiv Kumar Sharma.
