KATRA, Apr 18: Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police of Basantgarh in Udhampur lifted ’30th Salora Kesari 2014′ title by defeating Wrestler Pamma of Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab in a thrilling bout that lasted for 25 minutes at Salora in Jammu today.
Dangal was organized by Salora Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Chuni Lal Ramotra.
National Conference Senior Leader and Secretary Rural Jammu, Choudhary Noor Ali Dansalia was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers, while Shiv Kumar Sharma, who also happens to be the treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India presided over the function.
Senior NC leader, Som Dutt Khajuria and contractor AFCONS, Hardeep Singh were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were SHO Tikri, O P Chib, Sarpanchs Madan Mohan Dubey, Rehmat Ali, Pt Jagdish Kumar, Bansi Lal, Mohd Sadiq, Angrej Singh and general secretary District Reasi Indian Style Wrestling Association, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri).
Winner of the title bout, Benia Min was presented with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 in addition to “Salora Kesari Patta” and Maa Ki Chunni by Choudhary Noor Ali Dansalia and Shiv Kumar Sharma, while runners-up wrestler Pamma received Rs 15,000 from Chuni Lal Ramotra and Som Dutt Khajuria.
Som Dutt Khajuria contributed Rs 35,000 and Choudhary Noor Ali Dansalia contributed Rs 21,000 as financial assistance to the organizers.
In all,107 bouts took place in this historic Vishal Dangal.
