REASI, June 2: Wrestler Iahaq Ahmed (Lallu) of J&K Police Jammu lifted 4th Talwara Dangal title 2024 by defeating wrestler Manjeet of Haryana in the first main bout that lasted for 14 minutes here today.
The Dangal Committee Talwara organized Vishal Dangal under the overall supervision of Jagdev Singh (President), Numberdar Aman Raj, Gian Chand and Mohd. Iqbal.
Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and Senior Vice President Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers.
BJP Senior leader and former BJP District Reasi President Kuldeep Kumar Dubey (Mangu Shah), DDC member Abdul Rashid, Kuldeep Magotra and former Sarpanch Kewal Kumar were the guests of honour. Sub Inspector Ravinder Kumar and Sukhdev Singh were the prominent persons present on the occasion.
The bouts were officiated by Raj Singh, Kartar Singh and Sunny Sharma. Wrestler Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu), the winner of 1st malli bout was awarded with cash prize of Rs 51,000 by chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma and Jagdev Singh (President) while runner-up wrestler Manjeet got cash prize of Rs 30,000.
In all 65 bouts were played in the Dangal and a total Rs 4, 00,000 was distributed as cash prize among the wrestlers. 2nd malli bout was won by wrestler Bholla of Shara Akhara in Haryana who defeated wrestler Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu. Winner Bholla got Rs 31,000 while runner-up Rashid got Rs 20,000.
Third malli bout was won by Surjit Singh of J&K Police of Narkote who defeated wrestler Zakker of Akhara Lalian in Punjab, resident of Kathua winner Surjit Singh got Rs 15,000 while runner up Zakker got Rs 10,000. 4th bout was won by Nadeem of J&K Police of Doda who defeated Neeru Gujjar of BSF of Chandigarh. 5th bout was won by Babba of Kot Bhalwal who defeated Jai Bhagwan of Delhi.
Members of Dangal committee Talwara who helped the conduct of Dangal included Jagdev Singh (President), Numberdar Aman Raj, Gian Chand, MohdIqbal, Mohd Farooq, Kartar Singh, Mohd Saleem, Mohd Munir, Abdul Gani, Sita Ram, Kuldeep Kumar, Mohd. Razak, Balder Singh and Des Raj.
