JKP Wrestler Muneer lifts 101st Katheel Dangal title-2024

UDHAMPUR, June 19: Wrestler Muneer of J&K Police resident of Panj Grani Nagrota lifted 101st annual Dangal title-2024 by defeating Wrestler Neeru Gujjar of BSF Chandigarh in the first malli bout that lasted for 12 minutes at Village Katheel (Majalta) in district Udhampur.
Winner of 1st malli bout wrestler Muneer was awarded with cash prize of Rs 12,000 along with “ Mata Ki Chunari” while runner-up Wrestler Neeru Gujjar got Rs 9,000. Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and President Kreeda Bharti Jammu and Kashmir Shiv Kumar Sharma graced the occasion as chief guest who gave away cash prizes among the Wrestlers.
Inspector (Retd) BSF President Awardee Kuldeep Singh, ASI Rapinder Singh, Ex-Sarpanch Karan Singh and Manohar Lal were the guests of honour. Second malli bout was won by Chandi of Maharashtra who defeated Dillar Khan of J&K Police. Winner Chandi was awarded with cash prize of Rs 10,000 while runner-up wrestler Dillar got Rs 8,000.
Third malli bout was won by Kharpu of Jammu who defeated Subham of Delhi. Winner wrestler Kharpu was awarded with cash prize of Rs 7,000 while runner-up wrestler Shubam got Rs 5,000. In all 45 bouts were played in the one day long dangal and Rs1,25,000 was distributed as cash prizes among the wrestlers by chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma (President).
The bouts were officiated by Lochan Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Tulinder Kumar and Raj Singh. Proceedings were conducted by Subash Singh of Udhampur. Other results were Gopal Sharma of Jindrah beat Vikas of Delhi, Amit of Delhi beat Cobra of Jammu, Sumit of UP beat Sujal of Samba, Mohit of Haryana beat Mirju of Samba, Billu of Jammu beat Sudesh of Delhi, Uttam of UP beat Asif of Jindrah, Pardeep of Delhi beat Bagga of Kathua, Rinku of Delhi beat Pankaj of Manwal, Nikhal of UP beat Murad Ali of Jammu and Jarden of UP beat Shoota Munir of Jammu.
