JKP Wrestler Nadeem lifts 61st Annual Chhapanoo Dangal title

REASI, July 3: J&K Police wrestler Nadeem of Doda lifted 61st Annual Chhapanoo (Fadya) Dangal title by defeating wrestler Gourav of Madhya Pradesh (MP) in the 1st malli main bout that lasted for 23 minutes at village Chhapanoo near Parcheen Shiv Mandir in tehsil and district Reasi today.
Nadeem was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 11,000 while runner-up wrestler Gourav was awarded with cash prize or Rs 10,000. Ex-Sarpanch Sham Lal Sharma and Kuldeep Sharma contributed Rs 21,000 as financial assistance to the organizers for1st malli bout.
The one day wrestling event (Dangal) was organized by Chhapanoo Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of former Sarpanch Sham Lal Sharma, (former Sarpanch) Rattan Lal Naib Sarpanch and Bishan Dass.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest who gave away the cash prizes among the wrestlers.
Inspector Rakesh Sharma, former Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh and Bashir Ahmed Kohli, President Bambyal Dangal Committee were the guests of honour. The bouts were officiated by Raj Singh, Manzoor Hussain, Lal Singh, Punjab Singh (Panch), Babu Khan and Murli Dhar (Munna).
Second Malli bout was won by Deepak of Punjab who defeated Maam Hussain of Domel. Winner wrestler Deepak was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.- while runner-up wrestler Maam Hussain was awarded with Rs. 8,000. In all 62 bouts were played in the Dangal and Rs. 2, 50,000 were distributed as cash prizes among the Wrestlers by chief guest Shiv Kumar Sharma.
