JKP XI registers 21 runs win over Simula XI

JAMMU, July 4: JKP Cricket XI registered 21 runs win over Simula Cricket XI in a keenly contested match and advanced to next stage of the ongoing Monsoon Tri-Series Cricket League, which is being played at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Batting first, JKP Cricket XI scored 150 runs in the stipulated 35 overs. Ram Dayal played splendid inning of 50, whereas Farooq Ahmad made 30 and Parveen Singh contributed with 29 runs.
From Simula Cricket XI side, Vikram Singh was the main bowler who took 4 wickets, Hilal Rather and Kuldeep scalped 2 wickets each while Aman and Vivek shared 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, Simula Cricket XI could not achieve the target and were all out in 26.3 overs for 129 runs. Sameer Khajuria was the top scorer with 37 runs, Hardeep and Puneet made 24 and 22 runs respectively.
From JKP Cricket XI side, Muzamil and Rompy took 4 wickets each, while Rajesh Gill and Parveen Singh shared one wicket apiece.
Ram Dayal of JKP Cricket XI was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep Manchanda and Vinod Kandayara.
Earlier, SSP Traffic Mohan Lal, who was the chief guest during the match interacted with players of both the teams and conveyed best wishes to the participating players.
