JKPWA condemns robbing incident in Duranto Express

JAMMU, Jan 18: All J&K Passengers’ Welfare Association (JKPWA) has strongly condemned the looting and robbing incident of passengers travelling in 2 AC coaches of Duranto Express and asked the Government of India and all the state governments to take strict measures in this regard as this incident should be treated as an eye-opener.
In a statement issued here today, president of All J&K Passengers’ Welfare Association, Pt R C Sharma has termed this incident most shameful, which exposed the entire machinery of Union Government and the State Government.
He asked the Government of India to make foolproof security arrangements for the security of the passengers in the entire country and also install CCTV and other latest equipments in all the coaches of all trains. He also asked the Railway Ministry to suitably compensate the victims as they have faced the trauma and depression during the operation of this incident and aftermath.
