JKRA holding selection trials for XXIV All India G V Mavalankar Shooting C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association is going to hold selection trials to shortlist the probables for the forthcoming XXIV All India G V Mavalankar Shooting Championship-2014 in Small Bore Rifle/ Pistol events to be held at AMRTA Range, Khanpur, Ahmedabad in Gujarat from October 5 to 15, 2014.
The Championship will be conducted by Ahmedabad Military & Rifle Training Association, an affiliate of Gujarat Rifle Association under the patronage of the National Rifle Association of India.
The selection trials for the J&K State shooters will be held under the supervision of Deepika Singh, assistant coach, Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association at Delhi Public School, Shooting Range and Nagrota Shooting Range on September 25, 2014 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The selected shooters will undergo 10 days coaching camp to be organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association in association with J & K State Sports Council at DPS Shooting Range from September 26 to October 4.
General Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association has requested to all interested shooters to bring with them the date of birth certificate duly issued by the Jammu Municipal Corporation/Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
He said that a shooter is eligible to participate in AIGVMSC only if he/she has achieved the minimum qualifying scores as per Rule 1.4 of NRAI match Book in the previous AIGVMSC, Inter School Shooting Championship, State Championship (Full course as per NRAI Match Book), conducted by the State Rifle Association or in Gun For Glory Shooting Championship (for Air weapon events only) in those events in which he/she wishes to participate.
He further said that all those shooters, who are below 21 years and 18 years of age as on December 31, 2014 will be considered under the category of juniors (1994 onwards) and Youth (1997 onwards) respectively.
Those shooters who have not yet registered their names with the JKRA can fill the registration forms duly issued to them at the Shooting Range for registration.
