JAMMU, May 26: In the selection trials held at Coimbatore under the banner of Indian Power-lifting Federation, eight players of Jammu and Kashmir have been selected to represent the Country in the Asian Power-lifting Championship to be held at Hongkong from July 21 to July 25, 2015 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hongkong.
Rakesh Kumar (59 kg), Rohit Singh Jamwal (66 kg category), Rajan Jain (93 kg), Vijay Choudhary (93 kg) and Pankaj Verma (105 kg) have been selected in men’s category, while Surmeet Kour Soni (47 kg), Megha Jain (63 kg) and Irvinder Kour (72 kg) have been selected in women’s category.
The meeting of the Association was held today in presence of the general secretary of the Association, Rajan Jain and Farooq Khan, retired Police Officer, wherein the selected players were felicitated to boost their morale.
