J&K’s karatekas leave for Delhi

JAMMU, Aug 15: To represent the State in the 25th Senior National Karate Do Championship to be held from tomorrow at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi, the selected 8-member karateka team of Jammu and Kashmir left for the venue, here today.
The selection to the 8-member team was made by the Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir, under the supervision of J&K State Sports Council.
Brijesh Bhau is accompanying the team as manager, while Naresh Chander and Manoj Mehra are the team coaches.
President of the association, Ambedkar Gupta as also the general secretary Ayjaz Lone are also accompanying the State team.
The team: Puneet Bandral, Amit Kumar, Tushar Jandyal, Anchal Sharma, Adil Kohli, Deepika Chauhan, Poonam Slathia and Shweta Gupta.
Anil Gupta, Chairman, Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir gave the team a warm send off.
