J&K’s Prinkle Singh completes double title

JAMMU, Jan 18: Prinkle Singh of Jammu and Kashmir, a trainee of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association, completed a double title by winning the singles crown in the first National Series Road to Wimbledon in Kolkata today.
Prinkle defeated Shivani Amineni in straight sets in the final.
Prinkle claimed the first set by 6-1 and was leading 4-1 in the second set. After that Shivani won a few games but Prinkle finally clinched the second set at 7-5.
In the doubles final yesterday, Prinkle and Deedipya defeated Shivani Amineni and Aesha Patel by 6-3 and 6-1.
“With this win, Prinkle has kept the State’s flag high at the National scene and this achievement will go a long way in helping the State to craft a space on the Country’s sports map, ” expressed a Lawn Tennis coach.
