J&K’s Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh selected for World Wushu C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 18: After being picked for the National Coaching Camp for securing gold in the 10th Junior National Wushu Championship at Jharkhand, Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh of Jammu and Kashmir has been selected for the 4th World Junior Wushu Championship to be held at Macau in China from September  17 to 25.
The 21 member Indian Junior Wushu team left for Macau here this evening.
Meanwhile, another Jammuite Gurdeep Singh is accompanying the Indian team as Physiotherapist as he remained with Junior Indian Wushu team in the National coaching camps as well.
Asif Hussain from J&K was also in the India camp for seniors at SAI Bhopal from 15th April to 18th August 2012, but couldn’t earn his berth for the Indian Wushu team for the 8th Asian Wushu Championship at Vietnam.
Sowais, Patron Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir and H K Lohia, Chairman has congratulated Bhanu Pratap Singh and Gurdeep Singh for their selection in the Indian squad.
Prominent among others present at the departure were Ranjeet Kalra, Vijay Saraf, Deepak Handa, besides  Kuldeep Handoo, general secretary of Wushu Association of J&K and National coach of Indian senior wushu team.
