JAMMU, May 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has strongly criticized the State Government for not clarifying the shape and nature of the package announced by the Central Government led by Narendra Modi.
Talking to media-persons here today Gurdev Singh president of the Committee expressed disappointment over the attitude of the delaying tactics of the Government for not clarifying the shape and nature of the package announced for the refugees/ displaced persons in the J&K State. He said that Rs 2000 crore package was announced by the Prime Minister on Novermber 7, 2015 but till today there is no clarity on it. The displaced persons are confused and the officers concerned are also groping in the dark. There is no clarity at all on the nature of the package.
Mr Singh said that taking into account the recommendations of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, the officers should draft a road map for the resolution of the issues of the DPs of PoJK and others. He also appealed the top BJP leaders and MLAs from Jammu to mount pressure on the Union Government for the early sanctioning of the package for the DPs and also direct the officers to prepare a simple application format and easy modalities for the identification of the DPs to be benefitted under the package.
He asserted that the decades old legitimate settlement issue of then DPs and compensation for their left out properties, have never been taken seriously.
